Why the name: Four Three Fit?

So how exactly did we get the name of our gym, Four Three Fit?

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, this has been a long time dream of ours. To be honest we already had a different name picked out for our gym, but like most things in life, God had a different plan for us.

We had attempted to buy a pre existing gym, but that fell through. Then we found land and we were going to build from the ground up, but that fell through too.

Then my dad got sick and I was back and forth between TN and CA, so the gym quickly went on the back burner. After Dad passed away, I fell into a bit of depression, was not really taking care of myself and honestly thought the gym was never going to happen, which made my depression even worse.

One day I came home from work and Scott asked if I still wanted to open a gym. Of course I did! But nothing was going our way and I was feeling hopeless. He told me to get in the car, that he had something to show me. I grudgingly got in the car are he drove me to a building . . . only 5 min from our house. Apparently the owner of this building went to his bank (also our bank) and told the Branch Manager (same man we had been dealing with for the past year) he was looking to sell, wondering if he knew anyone looking for a building. So Scott got the call and brought me to the building. Now when I first looked at it, I knew it was perfect but was still very guarded. There was nothing on the building, no sign, nothing but the number 4, and below it 3. Now my brain immediately went to the days of pager code, where 143 meant ‘I love you’, and 43 was simply ‘love you’.

Now before my dad passed we had talked to him many times about our dream and he said he would help us if possible. If you know my dad, you know he’s not a super mushy guy and ‘I love you’ was not words that frequented his lips. But when I saw the numbers 43, all I could read was ‘Love You’ and I knew this was a gift from above. It also made me realize that no matter what life throws at you, you must always Love Yourself first. If you don’t take care of yourself first, it will be difficult to succeed in all of the other roles we play in life. And so, FourThree Fit was born. Thank you Dad for loving me and still guiding me from Heaven.
